1. THE 2CLIXZ APP
➔ HOW DO I UPDATE THE APP?
The 2CLIXZ app will automatically update when an update is being released, if your phone is set to automatically updating the apps.
To manually update the app:
- iPhone (Apple)
Open the app store and tap ‘today’ at the bottom of the screen. Then tap your profile icon to bring up your account. Scroll down until you see 2CLIXZ (for private individuals) or 2XLIXZ BUSINESS (for registered businesses) and then tap ‘update’.
Open the Google Play Store and tap on the three horizontal lines at the top-left of the screen to open the sidebar. Open ‘my apps & games’ and select the ‘updates’ tab. Then scroll down until you see 2CLIXZ or 2CLIXZ BUSINESS and tap ‘update’.
➔ MY PHONE DOES NOT SCAN THE QR CODE
If you could scan the official QR codes with 2CLIXZ before, but this has stopped working, it’s likely you don’t have the latest version of the app installed on your phone. Please update the app to the latest version using your preferred store.
➔ WHICH QR CODE DO I NEED TO SCAN?
The 2CLIXZ Registration app is designed to only read the 2CLIXZ QR codes on the designated posters, to be found usually at the entrances of businesses. The Registration App will not read or recognise other QR codes.
➔ WHY CAN’T I SCAN OTHER QR CODES?
QR codes work in a similar way to barcodes. However, unlike barcodes, there is no universal standard for how the information is encoded, and the QR codes for different apps may contain different information from each other.
➔ HOW DO I CREATE THE QR POSTER FOR MY BUSINESS?
- After you register your business on www.2clixz.pro/business/register, you will receive an email including the QR posters in different formats and languages.
➔ CAN I RECORD VISITS TO LOCATIONS THAT DON’T HAVE A QR CODE POSTER?
Yes, you can most definitely!
All businesses and organisations are encouraged to display their QR code posters. However, participation is entirely voluntary. If the business does not display a QR code or you are visiting friends or family, you can still keep track of your visits by adding a manual entry. This is explained here.
You can also encourage businesses and organisations to use 2CLIXZ and receive their own QR poster. Simply invite them to use the app by clicking ‘invite business’.
➔ WHAT TO DO WHEN I RECEIVE A CONTACT ALERT?
Contact alerts to potentially exposed people will depend on the region and legislation the 2CLIXZ App is used in.
In these cases :
- No need to worry right away! Receiving a contact alert does not necessarily mean you have been exposed.
- A contact alert means you have used 2CLIXZ app to check into a location at around the same time as another person who has been possibly exposed, and where contact tracers consider there may have been a risk of exposure.
- A contact alert is a simple way of making you aware that there is a risk of exposure. You are not required to start self-isolating after you receive a contact alert. However, if you feel unwell or start to develop symptoms, you should immediately contact your local health doctor or clinic.
- If you are identified through the contact tracing process as having a higher risk of exposure, for example if you were seated in close proximity to the confirmed case, contact tracers will contact you directly with further advice.
➔ DO I HAVE TO USE THE APP?
No, but what better way to protect yourself, your friends and family by enabling faster contact tracing? 2CLIXZ registration is entirely voluntary.
It’s a very effective way to keep a record of where you’ve been and people you’ve seen. In case a contact tracer gets in touch with you, you can share your digital diary in 2 clixz.
➔ CAN I SIGN IN MY CHILDREN WITH THE APP?
As people under 18 cannot register in the app for GDPR reasons, we advise to add them as a manual entry.
➔ DOES THE APP REPLACE MANUAL CONTACT TRACING?
2CLIXZ is a registration App, The more people using 2CLIXZ, the more effective the result will be. The app makes contact tracing faster, more accurate and easier to get in touch with people if needed.
However, technologies like 2CLIXZ are just one part of contact tracing and are designed to support rather than replace an existing contact tracing process.
2. PRIVACY & SECURITY
➔ HOW IS MY PRIVACY & DATA SECURITY PROTECTED?
It is one of our key priorities to ensure that 2CLIXZ is designed in a way that protects the privacy of everybody. Your data is erased automatically after 28 days (or according to local legislation).
➔ WHY DO I NEED A LONG/COMPLEX PASSWORD?
To ensure the highest safety to your personal data, the password requires a certain complexity.
Please note 2CLIXZ works with your phone’s password manager, which means that once you’ve set up your password, you won’t have to remember it the next time you log in.
➔ CAN I CHANGE MY EMAIL ADDRESS AFTER REGISTRATION?
No. In the current version of 2CLIXZ, it is not possible to change your email address after registering in the app.
Future updates to 2CLIXZ app may include the ability to update your email address. In the meantime, if you change your email address, you will lose all your past registrations. Please note this will also delete some or all of your data.
➔ CAN TWO PEOPLE USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS?
No. Due to privacy & data security requirements, it is not possible to use the same email address for 2 different 2CLIXZ accounts.
3. BUSINESSES & ORGANISATIONS
➔ WHERE CAN I GET MY 2CLIXZ QR CODE POSTER?
Once you register your business on the 2CLIXZ business app, you will automatically receive your QR code posters in your mailbox, where useful, even in different local languages.
The more QR code posters you have on display, the more people will be able to keep track of where they’ve been with the 2CLIXZ App.
➔ IS IT MANDATORY TO DISPLAY THE QR CODE POSTER?
For some businesses, it is mandatory to register your customers when they enter your business or restaurant. Displaying the poster with a QR code poster, however, is not mandatory for any business for now. It allows automation of all registrations in a safe way. QR code posters should be placed in a prominent place at or near the main entrances to each of their premises.
➔ WHERE & HOW DO I NEED TO HANG MY QR POSTER?
QR code posters should be placed in a prominent place at or near the main entrances to each of their premises.
Please note you need to create a separate poster for each of your premises or unique locations, but can print as many copies of each poster as you need for each premise. Print your posters in A4 and preferably in colour. Do not crop your posters, they must be displayed in their entirety.
Make sure to put your posters on display in prominent locations next to every entrance. If you can, place a poster at the front window or entrance, with the top approximately 130cm from the ground. The key thing is to make it easy for people to reach without creating an obstruction.
Try not to place your posters on sliding or revolving doors, in narrow or hard-to-see areas, in places with high glare, or in locations that are too high or hard to reach.
➔ WHY DO I NEED A QR CODE WHEN PEOPLE CAN MANUALLY ADD ENTRIES IN THE APP?
It’s a lot faster and easier for your customers to quickly scan a QR code instead of having to manually enter the details of your business into their phone. In addition, QR codes provide accurate location information that makes it easier to issue a contact alert through the app if needed.
➔ WILL A CONTACT ALERT IDENTIFY MY BUSINESS?
No, contact alerts to 2CLIXZ users will not specify which of the locations recorded in their digital diary is the location where they may have been exposed.
Contact tracers will independently contact you to identify whether a contact tracing register is available and obtain any other relevant information. For example, this may include information about the staff or other people who may have been at the premises during the relevant timeframe.
➔ WHAT ARE THE HARDWARE OR SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS?
2CLIXZ is compatible with around 95 percent of mobile operating systems and devices. In the current release of 2CLIXZ, Android devices need to have Android 4.1 or later while Apple devices need iOS 9 or later.
If you have an older operating system, you may be able to update it to a more recent version. For information on how to update your phone’s operating system, please refer to the guidance for Android users or Apple users as applicable.
➔ HOW DOES THE APP SUPPORT ACCESSIBILITY?
We want to make sure 2CLIXZ can be used by as many people as possible.
2CLIXZ has been designed to make use of assistive technology features on smartphones where possible, including VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android.
To improve accessibility for people who are blind or have low vision, the latest release of the app includes haptic feedback for supported devices that confirms when you have scanned one of the official QR codes.
We know this doesn’t ‘solve’ accessibility for 2CLIXZ, and we will continue working to identify further accessibility improvements for subsequent releases.
2CLIXZ exists in English, French and Dutch for the moment.
It is important to note that 2CLIXZ is intended to support rather than replace the existing contact tracing processes. What’s important is that people keep a record of where they’ve been and who they’ve seen in case a contact tracer needs to get in touch.
